Day-Trading the mini-sized Dow
Presented by:  Rob Keener, Keener Capital Management LLC
Archived Seminar Coming Soon

Rob Keener, President of Keener Capital Management LLC, discusses techniques he uses to day-trade the CBOT mini-sized Dow. In this seminar sponsored by NetFutures, the focus is on chart setup and the identification of support and resistance zones for the day's trading activity. Adding various indicators, Rob shows how setups for momentum type moves can be identified.

After developing a sound plan for getting into the trading day it's important to control loses with money management. Rob explains his thought process in regard to risk taking and using volatility to derive the stops for controlling risk.

In addition, Rob discusses how the CBOT mini-sized Dow acts as a leading indicator itself (or dominant market), as it has the ability to move independent of the e-mini S&P and in many cases lead the other markets.

Keener Capital is a CTA and IB.  The main operation of Keener Capital is designing Mechanical Trading Strategies and trading them for clients.  These systems attempt to achieve double-digit returns with minimum drawdowns.

With record volume ever increasing for the mini-sized Dow future and the parity with floor trades improving, the use of electronic based indexes are growing in popularity for individual investors.  In this webinar sponsored by NetFutures, a division of Zaner Group, veteran broker Alan Gaines, focuses on moving averages and indentifying breakouts. Alan is a futures and options specialist that has been assisting traders since 1982 and with this knowledge and experience, he developed his Breakout Approach in 1995. Alan will demonstrate how he uses his indicators to maximize trend trading. A breakout by definition is the point at which the market price breaks away or moves out of an established trading range or pattern. A breakout is simply a resolution in terms of price and a price breakout and is one of the simplest and most powerful concepts in trading.  The use of Breakout methodology will be discussed for short term and medium term indicators. During this webinar, you'll learn:

  • The Breakout Approach Principle
  • The Different Types of Breakouts
  • How to Identify Market Direction
  • The Breakout Goals
  • Basic Breakout Rules
