  Past, Present and Future

Welcome to Zaner. I'm Matthew Zaner, President of Zaner Group LLC and I am very proud of the products and services that we are able to provide to our clients worldwide. Today, we can help our clients achieve their monetary goals in very diverse financial sectors, including the futures, options and foreign exchange markets. During the past two-plus decades, we have enjoyed significant growth and expanded our product offerings as our client base increased.

My father, Jack Zaner, started this company in 1980 in partnership with two respected commodity law attorneys. Before that, he was Vice President of Marketing and Research for ContiCommodity Services. This new partnership, Filler, Weiner, Zaner & Associates, received financial backing from Hank Shatkin and former Chicago Board of Trade Chairman, Pat Arbor, and opened its office in the heart of Chicago's financial district. Its founding was to organize commodity pools and funds, and these were offered to the public through the sales efforts of Merrill Lynch, Piper Jaffrey and Kidder Peabody.

The 1980's saw the beginnings of discount brokerage in the securities industry. Filler, Weiner, Zaner & Associates decided that this concept was transferable to the commodities industry and became the pioneer in this area with the introduction of its division, Futures Discount Group.

The late 1980's and 90's saw many changes for the firm as my father took over sole management and ownership and changed the name to Zaner & Company. Zaner & Company actively embraced the revolutionary changes being brought forth by computer innovation and technology, and was integral in creating one of the first on-line futures trading platforms. Zaner & Company then formed its NetFutures division to provide customers the ability to take advantage of the speed and convenience of on-line trading. This is when I joined the company (1997), contributing my work experience in technology, the options trading floors, and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Arizona.

With the new millenium and the bright future of Zaner & Company came my father's retirement and my purchase of Zaner & Company. I have been inspired by my father's integrity, his commitment to respond to customer needs and his ability to provide innovative and creative solutions. To that end, I have reorganized the company as the Zaner Group, LLC and added new financial solutions to aide our client's goals: asset-management, foreign exchange (forex) trading, educational products, systems trading and more.

From its beginnings, the Zaner brand has stood for commitment to its clients, and that has never wavered. That's why we are still strategically located in the heart of Chicago, nestled in between the Chicago Board of Trade and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

I invite you to visit our offices at 150 South Wacker Drive when you are in Chicago.
